Bio
Jessica Owens was raised in a house sandwiched between cornfields in rural Indiana. It didn’t take long for her to discover that her imagination was her superpower. Her entire childhood consisted of either reading, or forcing her friends to act out the stories she invented. Before she was two, her dad had to nail the bookshelf to the wall because he couldn't keep her off of it. And while she mostly can reach the top shelf without climbing it these days, her appetite for a good story hasn't let up. She holds a degree in English Literature from Purdue University, and has spent many years volunteering at her local libraries. After a while it made sense if she was going to spend all that time in libraries, she might as well become a librarian. Now she spends her days helping folks find books, solve family mysteries (through genealogy!) and ordering books to her heart's content. She writes YA and Middle Grade.
When she’s not doing bookish things, she’s spending time with her three kids and husband, wrangling cats, or off having adventures in the many places she loves to travel. She’s more than a little obsessed with native gardening, bringing birds into her yard, and then rescuing butterflies from those same birds.
These days she's represented by agent Lori Steel at Steelworks Literary Agency, and is excited to get closer to sharing her stories with all of you.
